REMEMBRANCE Day events at Gable Hall have always been an exceptional way to recognise the important day and this year was no different.

On Friday, 11 November, the entire school paid their respects in powerful service and were joined by local MP Stephen Metcalfe.

Interim Principal Mr Gary Lewis said: "I was delighted to attend a particularly thoughtful service and see all of our students remembering those who have fought hard for our freedoms and serve to defend our democratic freedoms and way of life. All who were involved can be very proud.

"We will always remember the enormous sacrifice so many give today and every day. We unite to honour the fallen from across the world who gave their lives so that we could be free.

"It is so important that the sacrifices made on our behalf are never forgotten. It is very encouraging that today's young people continue to recognise that and take an active part in Remembrance."
