Second case of coronavirus recorded in Thurrock

A SECOND case or coronavirus has been recorded in Thurrock.

In the latest figures released by Public Health England it is revealed that nationally there have been 2,626 cases, resulting in 103 deaths.

And the figures, updated to 9am yesterday (18 March) show a second case in Thurrock.

The first was announced on Sunday (15 March).

No details of either case have been released.

Meanwhile Thurrock Council has released its first daily bulletin updating residents on coronavirus.

Thameside Theatre

The theatre will be closed to the public in line with Government coronavirus recommendations. The theatre will contact everyone who has bought a ticket for an affected show. There is no need for anyone to contact them. All shows until the end of April have been postponed or cancelled. Full details are Here

Sports Pitches

No new bookings will be taken for Council sports pitches until further notice. This follows advice from the sports governing bodies. More Here

Libraries and Hubs

Libraries and hubs will remain open but opening hours are under constant review.

  • Stanford Library is closed today and on Saturday 21 March
  • Chadwell St Mary Library will close at 2pm today.
