Sense of achievement at St Clere's

By Neil Speight   12th Aug 2021

THERE was a sense of triumph and delight as staff and parents at St Clere's School in Stanford-le-Hope watched students opening their GCSE results.

A statement from the school said: "Despite all the challenges this year group have faced, they have came out 'on top' with some amazing results.

"Some highlights were, 74% of pupils achieving good passes in both English & maths with 86% in English and 83% in maths.

"There were particularly strong results in chemistry, physics, biology, sport and catering. Nine pupils achieved a Grade 9 in maths and eight Grade 9s were achieved in English."

Headteacher Mrs Ashley Hughes said: "We recognise how tough the last two years have been for our students but they have worked extremely hard, with their teachers' continued support and expertise.

"They have achieved some stunning GCSE results which will set them well on their way to future career success."

Some of the highest attainment in the school was achieved by Isabell Medina-Fowler

(4 grade 9s, 1 grade 8, 2 grade 7s), Aaliyah Osagie (progress score of +2.70), Tilly Humphreys (3 grade 9s, 1Distinction*, 3 grade 8s), Frank Dalton (1 grade 9,

3 grade 8s, 2 grade 7), Edward Mortimer (5 grade 7s), Nathaniel Quaye (1 grade 8, 5 grade 7s).
