THE Met Office has warned that Thurrock and South Essex could be subject to localised flooding because of heavy rain expected late this evening (Wednesday, 20 October) and into the early hours of tomorrow.

It has issued amber and yellow warnings, and says Thurrock could be among the worst affected areas. The warning says homes and businesses are likely to be flooded, causing damage to some buildings

And that as a result of the rain and flooding there may be subsequent traffic delays and some cancellations to train and bus services are likely. The warning adds spray and flooding will probably leading to difficult driving conditions and some road closures

Power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses are likely.
