Shop front and illuminated café sign win approval. What will be on the menu remains a question

IT looks like Corringham will shortly be getting a new shop front for a food business after Thurrock Council granted permission.

In January Thurrock Nub News reported on applications to change the frontage of a shop on Grover Walk which is set to become a café.

It has been a long and drawn out process for the business owners, OMG Desserts, who had to win a planning appeal to get the change of use permission for the former shop. But now it has got the nod for its design for the frontage and a new illuminated sign.

It is not yet quite clear what the café will be specialising in. The application was from OMG Deserts who run a dessert café in Basildon, but the signage says the new business will be offering Turkish cuisine. There is nothing in the planning approval granted today that specifies the nature of the food on offer.
