TODAY'S Orsett Show has been hailed as a great succes, returning after a two year absence because of the covid pandemic.

Thousands of people visited Orsett Showground today (Saturday, 3 September) to sample a host of traditional events, performances and showcases of local talent.

The traditions of a rural gathering with a history of more than 100 years were encapsulated in displays of farming techniques, equestrianism, competition and a host of trade and exhibition stands featuring local crafting and heritage recollections.

A main stage featured number of performances, including three sessions from the award-winning Tilbury band and the 'Orsett Show's Got Talent' competition, won by 12-year-old Luke from Gable Hall School.
