Local News by Nub News Reporter 19th May 2026

AFTER days of inclement and variable weather, with cold winds keeping the temperature down, the forecast is for brighter and warmer things ahead - starting on Thursday (21 May).

And as part of a celebration to mark the continued success of its Orsett Road business, celebrated Indian Resraurant Desi will be helping keep youngsters - and residents - cool.

Every year business owner Abdul Bashir makes donations of free food to deserving causes,

And the latest idea is sure to prove popular.

Abdul says: "This year i thought I'dl do something different, soi I will be giving away 1,000 ice cream & ice Lollies over two days at Quarry Hill school located on Dell Road."

So if you want to be cool, be outside the school from 3.15pm on Thursday and Friday.
