Youngsters entertained crowd at Tilbury's lights switch on

TILBURY Riverside Project celebrated another successful event after Friday night's (5 December) which saw local folk well entertained.

Father Christmas arrived on a decorated bus before meeting local youngsters and their families in his Sunshine centre grotto

The annual event started with the arrival of Father Christmas on a decorated Ensign bus before he walked through the enthusiastic crowd to his Grotto in the Sunshine centre.

The sounds of Christmas: Herringham School Choir and Pioneer on stage.

Youngsters from local schools and dance and singing groups entertained visitors on the stage, where 'Mr Tilbury' Les Morgan introduced them.

Eat Street provided tasty treats at the funfair, where offiers from Port of Tilbury Police made sure everything went smoothly.

Visitors could also enjoy a number of stalls, the delights of the local Eat Street takeaway and all the fun of the fair. Thurrock Arts Outburst also entertained with a light show.

The lights are switched on: The big moment with youngsters and MP Jen Craft.

Once the singing had finished Thurrock MP took to the stage with local children to formaly switch on the town's lights, provided by the Port of Tilbury, supported by local businesses and fundraising events through the year.
