Specialist police team nets three in Thurrock and takes drugs off the street
THREE people have been arrested in Thurrock following proactive activity by Essex Police's Operational Support Group (OSG) which also seized an amount of suspected Class A drugs.
The drugs were uncovered during a search of a vehicle during activity yesterday (Wednesday, 29 November).
The OSG is a specialist team that supports other teams from across the force by carrying out high visibility patrols, making arrest attempts, and carrying out warrants, as well as proactive patrols on local roads.
Yesterday the team arrested one man on suspicion of domestic offences in Thurrock.
They also then stopped a vehicle, also in Thurrock, as part of proactive checks and, following a search of the car found an amount of Class A drugs.
A man was arrested on suspicion of drugs offences before another man was also arrested on suspicion of failing to attend court during a linked search of a property.
Superintendent Phil Stinger said: "The work the OSG does is really important to keep the public safe and help other teams progress investigations.
"Through their positive, proactive work an amount of suspected Class A drugs have been seized, preventing these substances from getting into our communities.
"The team will be out again today, keeping you safe again."
