By Neil Speight   25th Feb 2022

A MAN is in a 'life threatening' condition after being assaulted, reportedly with a knife, in Grays last night (Wednesday, 24 February)

Police remain at the scene of the incident in Charles Street, which took place around 8.30pm.

During the incident, a 19-year-old man sustained injuries which police believe to have been caused by a knife.

He is being treated in hospital and is in a serious condition, described as life threatening by officers.

A police statement says: "We need anyone with information on the incident, including dash cam and doorbell footage of the area between 8pm and 8.40pm last night to submit a report online via this link where you can use the live chat function which is available between 7am and 11pm.

"You can also call us on 101. Please quote incident 1229 of February 23."

Information can be submitted anonymously to Crimestoppers or by calling 0800 555111.
