THE quality, care and customer service at an independent Thurrock store has been recognised in a national awards competition.

Abbey Domestic in Corringham is renowned locally for its electronic goods sales and service and picked up two awards at the recent ERT magazine awards.

The UK's leading electrical retailers and manufacturers came together in London on 23 October for the ERT Awards 2025, a celebration of the very best across the independent electrical retail sector.

The celebration which is in its 17th year, was held at The Grand Connaught Rooms in London, and welcomed guests from across the industry for an afternoon of recognition, networking and celebration.

Abbey Domestic, at 2-4 Grover Walk, was nominated in two categories this year.

Store manager Mark Millington said: "Sadly we didn't quite get the win but came away with a close second and highly commended!

"Although disappointed we didn't get the win, I'm ever so proud of how far we have come over the past few years!

"To be nominated once in national awards was a proud moment but the be nominated in two categories for a second year in a row and to be rated highly commended means a lot!

"It not only makes me proud of the staff behind the business but also makes me confident that we're continuing to be on the right path, always trying to improve!

"Not too bad for little old us hey! Thank you to all you guys for the continued support and allowing us to earn your business, it means more to me than you'll ever know! Thank you."
