ALL the fun of the fete will come to the centre of Grays on Saturday afternoon (7 August).

Over the next two weeks Morrisons stores up and down the country are to host fundraising events for Young Lives v Cancer (formerly known as Clic Sargent).

Thurrock Nub News has previously reported on a carnival planned for Corringham and its sister store in Grays will also be supporting the cause.

Its community champion Tarnya Bennett will be looking to create a bit of summer fun with games, a DJ, a face painter and performances from Move it Dance School. There might also be a chance to soak Tarnya in the stocks.

Over in Corringham the carnival style event will see in excess of 20 stalls set up in the town centre as well as a DJ and singers.

Tarnya says: "With the pandemic affecting fundraising over the last 18 months myself and Samantha are keen to raise as much as possible as well as having a bit of fun in the community. Both events start at 10 am."
