THE Met Office has issued a warning across the south of England, and includes Thurrock and wider South Essex in the projected path of a coming storm.

It has issued a yellow weather warning today (Sunday, 15 May) as thunderstorms are forecast. The warning comes into place from 8pm this evening.

Forecasters warn the storms may cause some flooding and disruption to people's lives tonight, adding: "There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes or hail. Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services."
