Storm warning in Thurrock from Met Office

THE Met Office has warned that the region may be hit by thunderstorms this afternoon (Tuesday, 20 July) which could cause impacts to travel and power supplies.

There is a warning of a danger of flooding to homes and businesses with the possibility to of damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds

Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures

Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services

Power cuts might occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.
