THIS was the scene at Tesco at Lakeside at 6am today as shoppers queued to get into the superstore.

The queue snaked back through the car park and within minutes of the store doors opening, with Tesco staff limiting entry to batches of 50 at a time arguments were breaking out!

A borough resident contacted Thurrock Nub News to say: " I have to travel to work early and in recent days when I have got home the shops have no stock so I thought I would try an early start.

"It seems many others had the same thought.

"The queue is back to, and beginning to snake to the click and collect kiosk. Already when I collected my trolley, the front of the queue were arguing because some bloke decided he's not going to queue and says why should we! My word. And we say we are a civilised society. Animals".
