AN appeal has been made by Thurrock's Foodbank charity for donations of toilet rolls.

The charity, based at the Thurrock Christian Fellowship in Chase Road, Corringham, supplies food and household items to families in need across the borough.

Its business co-ordinator Sandra Sawle says: "The stock piling of toilet paper at the start of this pandemic wasn't the nicest behaviour to observe in our society. But it did show how people felt about running out of this item.

"At we have been putting toilet rolls in every three day emergency box but our stock is now very low .... can you help?

"If you can, please put some in our collection points located throughout Thurrock (They are listed here) or drop some into our warehouse in Corringham or donate via our Amazon Wish List."

One such donation was recently received via the wish list from Diane Southam, prompting Sandra to say: "Thank-you for such amazing generosity and kindness. Items such as these make a real difference to Thurrock residents in crisis."

And Sandra has also been saying thanks for a number of recent donations.

She says: "On behalf of our clients a massive thank you to Currys PC World at Lakeside Retail Park for a fantastic donation of carrier bags.

"Having strong carrier bags for our clients to carry food home in makes the process of collecting an emergency food parcel that much easier for them in a time of crisis."

Carrier bags have also been donated by the Co-op at Sockets Heath.

And Sandra was delighted to report on a donation of 238.9kg of foodstuffs from Thurrock Helping Hands saying: "Your generosity and kindness makes a real difference to Thurrock residents referred to us in crisis."
