ANOTHER early morning protest by JustStopOil campaigners is causing disruption in Thurrock and is likely to impact traffic throughout the morning (Friday, 15 April).

The latest in a long stream of incidents that has already seen around 400 people arrest and a policing bill amount to well over £1million happened on London Road in West Thurrock in the early hours.

Two weeks and a day after the first protest, campaigners have climbed aboard fuel tankers on the roundabout junction with West Thurrock Way, causing problems for traffic accessing Lakeside and the industrial areas off the A1090.

Specialist police officers, some of whom have been drafted in from as far away as Scotland, will be used to remove the protesters from the top of the tankers.
