FOOTBALLING teammates of a Stanford-le-Hope eight-year-old who suffered a broken leg when hit by a rogue teenage e-scooter rider lifted his spirits by visiting him at home.

Kienan Akdeniz, a year four pupil at Graham James Primary Academy, is recuperating after having surgery.

The youngster is a member of Corringham Athletic Youth FC and yesterday his teammates and club officials sent him gifts and get well cards, reflected widespread report in the local community.

Mum Siobhan Said: "Kienan has been overwhelmed with support. He's recovering at home but has a long road to recovery ahead of him.

"His coach brought round some gifts from the team and parents. It made him smile. I will be forever grateful for the support."
