POLICE have confirmed two more incidents of teenagers involved in carrying out robberies at the Lakeside shopping centre in West Thurrock.

Last week Thurrock Nub News reported on six arrests after a teenager was attacked and robbed by knife-wielding young people and two days later more crimes have been committed,

A statement from Essex Police today (Monday, 6 February) says: "Two teenagers have been arrested after our officers responded quickly to reports of robberies at Lakeside on Friday (3 February)

"We received reports of incidents between 7.30pm and 8.10pm in which mobile phones were taken.

"A 15 year-old boy from Dagenham was later arrested on suspicion of robbery, possession of a Class B or C drug, and counterfeit currency.

"A 16 year-old boy from Grays was arrested on suspicion of robbery.

"They have both been released on bail until 18 April."

Acting Inspector Rob Thompson added: "We have an excellent partnership with Lakeside and it is that relationship which means we are able to quickly respond to incidents like this.

"We're working hard with them to ensure you are safe when shopping, eating, or enjoying a night out at the shopping centre."
