THAMESIDE Young Producers produced another of their charity shows on Saturday (20 May) performed by students from local theatre schools.

The show also included a special performance on stage from the members of the Toy Library, a group of disabled young people and a signed performance from students of Creative Blast Academy of You Will Be Found from the musical Evan Hanson.

This was the 21st show produced over the 10 years since Franki McEwan formed the group as part of a year long National Young Producers project.

Franki's mum, Ann, said: "Members of the group have grown up over those years but their dedication to Young Producers has never waivered giving thousands of young wonderfully talented people the opportunity to come together as one and perform raising thousands of pounds for good causes.

"They raised £1167 to be split between the two charities raised over the two shows.

"This dedication was put to the test with Franki working away in other theatres and Becky, Elisabeth, Charlotte and Liv taking over the helm and the young producers working so hard knowing that what they achieve is based on more than just one person.

"These amazing achievements are due to all of the young people involved but could not happen without our beloved theatre.

"It's more that just a box with seats in it. It has hopes, memories and dreams woven into the fabric of the stage.

"It has given each and every person that steps onto it the chance to shine, which is so important for mental health and well being. Most of all it has created the Thameside family a place where everyone, no matter who you are or your capability belongs.

"It judges no one and has a place for all."
