Thameside Primary School is celebrating a victory after they clinched the Thurrock School Sporting Participation award for the second consecutive year.

This achievement is particularly noteworthy as the school has shattered the record for the highest points tally ever achieved in the competition.

A statement from the school says: "The students' unwavering dedication and enthusiasm have not only secured the prestigious award but have also set a new benchmark for excellence in school sports.

"The collective efforts of the children, along with the support of their teachers and parents, have been instrumental in this extraordinary accomplishment.

"In addition to their success in the Thurrock School Sporting Participation, Thameside Primary's athletes showcased their talent on a larger stage this week at the Essex competitions. The school's Netball and Quad Kids teams represented Thurrock with commendable performances.

"A special mention goes to the Quad Kids team, who achieved an impressive second place in the Essex competition. This phenomenal accomplishment highlights the dedication, hard work, and sportsmanship of the young athletes. Their achievement has brought immense pride to the school and the community."

Headteacher Joanna Bray expressed her joy and pride in the students' accomplishments, adding: "We are incredibly proud of all our children.

Winning the Thurrock School Sporting Participation award for the second year running and breaking the record points tally is a testament to their hard work and team spirit.

"The success of our Netball and Quad Kids teams at the Essex competitions further underscores the talent and determination of our students and PE team. Congratulations to everyone involved!"
