A BOROUGH resident, now living in Corringham, has paid a high price for playing loud music at a borough tower block.

Darren Rawlinson, of Thors Oak, failed to appear when Thurrock Council prosecuted him at Southend Magistrates' court last week for failing to comply with a number of noise abatement notices.

Initially three charges relating to incidents at a property at Poole House, Godman Road in Chadwell St Mary, were posted but two were withdrawn, leaving one covering a number of incidents between August last year and February 2026.

In his absence he was fined £660, ordered to pay a victims' services surcharge of £264 and costs of £2,000. The total payment is £2,924.
