THURROCK and District Scouts have confirmed next week's scheduled gang show has been called off.

A statement says: "It with a very heavy heart that we write this posting. As a result of the instructions issued from both The Scouts and Girlguiding Headquarters, we cannot proceed with Stride On 2020.

"This will be devastating to all involved and we thank all of our cast and crew for their hard work and commitment that they have given every Sunday since September.

"Moving forward, we have to make sure that we do everything we can to keep everybody safe and that includes our audience.

"We do not intend to try to reschedule the Show but will roll it forward to 2021.

"The dates of Stride On 2021 are from Wednesday March 24th to Saturday March 27th at The Thameside Theatre.

"Refunds will be provided for all ticket sales but can we ask that everyone is patient as this will take some time. Please let us contact you as we will have all of your details.

"Please stay safe and, hopefully, some form of normality will resume in the not too distant future.

"We also offer our condolences also to our other local shows of Basildon Wickford & Billericay Gang Show and Chelmsford Gang Show who have also had to cancel their shows.

"From All of Us at Thurrock Scout & Guide Gang Show, we thank everyone for your continued Support and look forward to Striding on in 2021"
