A POST box in Grays has been topped out for Easter by an enthusiastic group of knitters who have been clicking their needles to raise funds for disadvantaged children.

The Grays-based Needles and Chat group have put a seasonal top on the box outside Little Thurrock Post Office, where visitors snd shoppers are being invited to buy handknitted chicks for £2.50 each which include a cream egg.

All money raised will be going to Essex Deaf Childrens Society. They are on sale at the Post Office, Little Thurrock, Dock road. Also at The "New Offical Wharf Riverside Pub" Grays.

Susan Burns, who runs the group, says: "We would like to thank the Little Thurrock Post Office post office for supplying the eggs. Also to Tilbury Asda, Lakeside Tesco and the Wharf who have donated eggs.

"It's been amazing and with one last push please come and support us."
