THURROCK Council has cleared a fly-tip that caused concerns to residents in Corringham.

It happened in the area of the council's Isobel Evans Court residential complex and caused some distress to elderly residents.

The tip was reported to the council who responded yesterday (Tuesday, 18 April) by saying: "This fly-tip has been dealt with and removed, with one particularly heavy item awaiting specialist collection, due to take place on Wednesday morning (19 April).

"Enforcement officers have attended this fly-tip and are conducting an investigation into the matter.

"We would urge residents to report any fly-tipped waste they see to the council online at https://www.thurrock.gov.uk/fly-tipping."
