STUDENTS and staff at Treetops schools in Grays hosted a special afternoon for Thurrock Re-engage guests who were served an afternoon tea which included scrumptious sandwiches and home-baked cakes.

Re-engage offers support to the area's elderly, vulnerable and lonely people by organising social events and arranging transport.

The latest event at Treetops was co-ordinated by volunteer Maggie Whitlock who said: "A huge thank you to Sheree and all of the staff at Treetops for helping us put this together.

"A big thank you to our volunteers for getting our guests to and from the tea party, without you this wouldn't not happen.

"It's fantastic to bring generations together."

Regional co-ordinator Loraine Coleman added: "Thank you so so much to Sheree and students from Treetops for treating our Re-engage Thurrock tea party guests to a wonderful afternoon and a very warm welcome.

"Such a delicious tea was served by the students and featured home-made cakes, you are all amazing. A fabulous treat for our guests."
