DETAILS have now emerged of an incident in Corringham last night (Thursday, 25 March) when two people were assaulted and a woman arrested.

A statement from Police today says: "We are investigating following reports a man was assaulted in Gardener Avenue at around 8.50pm. He sustained a head injury during the incident while another person was also assaulted.

"They were both taken to hospital for treatment.

A 42 year-old woman from Corringham was later arrested in Bellmaine Avenue on suspicion of obstructing a police officer and assisting an offender.

She is currently in custody and our enquiries are ongoing.
