Two more arrests following fatal Lakeside stabbing

DETECTIVES investigating the murder of Michael Ugwa at Lakeside have made two more arrests.

Mr Ugwa, 29, was attacked at the shopping centre shortly before 4.30pm last Thursday (28 April) which led to his death. Tributes have been paid to the victim.

Yesterday, a man and a woman were arrested in Chiswick.

A 22 year-old man from Ilford is being questioned on suspicion of murder and possession of Class A drugs while the 54 year-old woman from Croydon is in custody on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Two people have already been charged in connection with the investigation. Nineteen year-old Brandon Lutchmunsing, of Grafton Road, Dagenham has been charged with murder and affray. Shannon Weston, 20, of Paddocks Close, Canewdon has been charged with assisting an offender.

They are both next due to appear at Basildon Crown Court tomorrow (Friday, 6 May).

Police are still appealing for anyone who has any information about Mr Ugwa's murder who have not yet come forward, to contact them
