Two more confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the borough.

AFTER a couple of days without change it has been announced that two more cases of residents being infected with coronavirus have been confirmed in the Thurrock.

That takes the total number of people to have contracted the virus to 324.

There has still be no update on the number of people who have died after contracting Covid-19 following the previous total of 107, which was up to 8 May.

Nationally the total number of deaths has gone up by 118 in 24 hours to 36,793 - a figure which is subject to interpretation and some analysts say is now well over 50,000.

259, 559 people across the UK have been confirmed as having the bug - a daily rise of 2,409.
