POSITIVE plans for a new future home, stronger links with Treetops School and a donation of more than £11,000 made for an upbeat annual meeting of Sugarloaf Riding for the Disabled group.

The meeting took place at the Kings head in Orsett, close to the club's existing base in the village.

Attendees heard from chair Carlean Dallas about existing links with Treetops schools and the possible for further future engagement with the possibility of creating a purpose build centre in association with the schools that would include indoor facilities.

The group also received a donation of £11,872.20 from the men's and lady captains of Orsett Golf Club, Val Matthewson and Mike Ashton, who made Sugarloaf their main charity during their year in office.

Earlier this year Thurrock Nub News visited Sugarloaf to report on the activities there. Check out our report and films via this link.
