A GROUP of 20 employees from the Amazon fulfilment centre in Tilbury recently volunteered their time to help brighten up Benyon Primary School by painting the school's outdoor early years space.

The team rolled up their sleeves to paint, clean, and revitalise the outdoor area at the South Ockendon Primary school on Tyssen Place, turning it into a colourful and welcoming space for pupils and staff to enjoy.

The transformation is part of Amazon's commitment to supporting local communities through employee volunteering and outreach.

Anais, one of the Tilbury team who volunteered, said: "It was amazing to see the difference we made in just one day.

"The garden looks fantastic and it's great to know the children will have a bright, tidy space to play and learn in."

Mrs Samantha Oxley, Head of School at Benyon Primary School added: "We're really grateful to the team from Amazon Tilbury for their hard work and support.

"The refresh of our outdoor learning environment and corridors has a big impact on our pupils. It's great to see local businesses getting involved with the school community."

Omer Kartal, General Manager at Amazon in Tilbury, added: "Community is at the heart of everything we do at Amazon. It's incredibly rewarding to see our associates giving back in such meaningful ways, and I'm proud of their effort to make a positive difference for the pupils and staff at Benyon Primary School."
