RESIDENTS have been warned to be wary of high tides on the River Thames tomorrow.

The alert has come from Thurrock Council and is particularly directed at the East Tilbury village area and Coalhouse Fort, though there may be overspills of water at some other points in the borough.

A high tide a couple of weeks ago saw some minor breaching of the flood barriers in Grays.

A statement from the council says: "A high tide is forecast for Coalhouse Fort and the adjoining car park throughout the morning and afternoon of Tuesday, 1 December. Please avoid the area during this time.

"Local bus services to Coalhouse Fort will also be affected."

You can check the high tide times on Thurrock Nub News' home page.
