THURROCK Council has highlighted changes to coming bin collections because of another bnak holiday weekend.

Collections this week were delayed a day because of May Day - something that will be repeated next week.

A council statement says: "Collections will take place a day later than usual with an additional round taking place on Saturday 6 and 13 May. More information about changes to waste collections in May and June can be found on our website at: thurrock.gov.uk/bindays

"We will be unable to collect any brown bins, so no garden waste collections will take place.

"Please remember food waste should be put in your green/grey wheeled bin instead of your brown bin. We have been collecting food waste as part of general waste since 6 March. Check what goes in your bins here.

"Garden waste that cannot be composted at home can be taken to the Household Waste and Recycling Centre."
