WHILE a major borough link road remains closed after a significant water main burst, Essex and Suffolk Water say it could reopen soon.

Stifford Hill between South Ockendon and North Stifford closed last weekend after the burst.

But a statement today (Saturday, 22 August, says an end is in sight.

The company says: "We can confirm that the repair has been completed and the road is now in the process of being reinstated, so traffic management is still in place to allow this to be carried out safely. "
