OLDER adults, their families and carers living in Thurrock are invited to an afternoon of entertainment, workshops and information about local support services.

The Older People's Community Mental Health team (OPCMHT) in Thurrock will host its annual Positive Wellbeing Day on Friday, 3 July from 1pm to 4pm at Grays Town Park, RM17 6QZ.

The event will bring together a range of local health and care services, charities and community organisations which support older people and their families.

Visitors can chat to representatives about the work they do and how they can help.

Organisations attending include Thurrock Care, Thurrock Carers Service, Mind Thurrock and Brentwood, and Alzheimer's Society.

As well as information stands, the afternoon will feature live entertainment, including a choir from Arts Outburst and a modern Indian dance performance by Veena Storm.

Adrian Putt, a Senior Practitioner in the OPCMHT, said: "This is the event's fourth year and it's going to be the biggest and best yet!

"The aim is to create a healthy space and to grow people's well-being and fitness in mind."
