Our weekly preview of 'What's On in Thurrock' picks out a selection of events hosted on our events guide.

This weekend brings a number of events support the Macmillan cancer charity.

Among them are:

All day madness at the Old Ship in Aveley for Macmillan, including West Ham match, live music and food.

An afternoon tea fundraiser on Saturday 21 September (2 to 4pm) so thatthe local community will have a chance to show their support for this cause.

It's held at The Flowers Community Hall. Pop in for a cuppa and a cake.

On Sunday (22 September) there will be a bake sale at the Crown and Anchor, Aveley.
