A TV reality show celebrity has championed the cause of the Marie Curie charity.

Tom Read Wilson, 32, is best known lately as the receptionist on Celebs Go Dating, who delivers witty one-liners and more innuendos during the show.

He is also a singer, actor and presenter who attended the Royal Academy of Music, where he studied Musical Theatre.

He regularly appears on shows such as Big Brother's Bit On The Side and has also featured on Celebrity Juice, Britain's Got More Talent and CelebAbility.

However, on his visit to intu Lakeside's Superdrug store the focus was on good causes rather than big egos.

He said: I've had a whistle top tour of the Lakeside Superdrug store today, including the 'Mary Quant-esque' beauty studio, where they have a wonderful threading and nail bar.

"We're celebrating the beginning of another two years of the extraordinary partnership between Superdrug and Marie Curie, continuing on from six fantastic years in which £5.5 million has been raised so far.

"It's such a wonderful cause."

Tom continued: "I think that there's not a great enough emphasis on palliative care.

"I think that feeling of "We'll fight, and fight, and then the fight is over" is ubiquitous.

"Marie Curie are the biggest force for changing this discourse and emphasising that actually, palliative care as well as maintaining dignity, is vitally important."
