Why didn't the white line cross the road...?

RESIDENTS in East Tilbury have been somewhat baffled by the partial marking of a road junction after recent roadworks.

The work was carried out on a junction off Princess Avenue, adjacent to a previous repair.

It would appear that at some point the junction had a continuous broken white line on it to markn the line of the junction, but that may have been covered up by resurfacing and not replaced.

Work then appears to have been done around a manhole, with just three short lines left.

When the most recent repairs took place contractors left just two visible broken lines on the new tarmac.

Residents asked Thurrock Nub News if twe could find out 'what's occuring?'

How Google Maps shows the junction before latest work.

However, the council appear not to know and, as well as sending a previous Google maps picture (above) said: "The transport chaps have had a look and it seems as though the work actually took place next to where the original markings are - and that they have painted an additional marking, plus repainted another right up to the border of where they undertook the work."

Nub News editor Neil Speight could only comment: "Well that clears that up then!"
