RESIDENTS in the east of the borough suffered a short power cut this evening (Thursday, 20 May) around 10pm.

A statement from UK Power Networks at 10.15pm said: "It was a high voltage overhead line fault and our guys are working to divert the power around that section to get everyone back on in stages.

"They still have some properties to get restored but all being well the service should remain on once restored."
