POLICE have confirmed the death of a young woman at a House of Multiple Occupancy (HMO) in Thurrock.

It happened on Friday, 28 November when an alarm was raised at the property known as Little Malgraves Cottages on Lower Dunton Road near Horndon on the Hill.

Multiple vehicles from the East of England Ambulance Service and Essex Police attended, as did the air ambulance. Forensic officers remained on the scene until late in the evening.

A statement from Essex Police says: "We were called to reports of a medical emergency in Lower Dunton Road at about 11.30am.

"Sadly, despite the best efforts of paramedics, a woman in her 20s was declared deceased at the scene.

"Her death is being treated as unexpected but not suspicious. Her family are being supported by specialist officers and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
