Woman dies after being taken ill in High Street

DESPITE the best efforts of emergency services, including medics flown in by the Essex Air Ambulance, the death has been confirmed of a woman who became ill in Grays High Street.

A police statement says: "We were called to concerns for the welfare of a woman on Grays High Street at around 7.05pm on Monday, 11 July.

"Emergency services attended but, sadly, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Her death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
