Woman injured in Stanford hit and run

A WOMAN was injured after being in collision with a vehicle in Stanford-le-Hope, close to the town's Recreation ground.

The incident happened on Saturday, 7 December and the subsequent police investigation has now resulted in a call for help to the public.

Officers were called to Billet Lane, close to the junction with Corringham Road, at around 12:50pm on Saturday following reports of the collision between a red Mazda car and a 36-year-old woman in which the car failed to stop.

A police statement says: "Fortunately, the pedestrian's injuries are not serious. Investigating officers believe there may be witnesses who haven't spoken to officers to date.
