DESPITE the best efforts of emergency teams, including a doctor flown in by the Essex and herts Air Ambulance, a woman's death has been confirmed at a Stanford-le-Hope supported living complex.

A number of ambulances and police were involved when an alarm was raised at Lloyd House on Victoria Road yesterday afternoon.

The ambulance helicopter landed in nearby Ruskin Road park.

However, all efforts proved in vain.

A statement from the East of England Ambulance Service said: "We were called shortly after 12pm on Friday to attend a medical emergency on Victoria Road in Stanford-le-Hope.

"Two ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were sent to the scene. Sadly, despite the best efforts of medical crews, a woman was pronounced dead at the scene."

Police confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances and the woman's family have been informed.
