YOUNGSTERS from a Thurrock football club are homing in on their target of raising £500 for the borough's Foodbank.

Members of East Thurrock United's Under 13 team are aiming to run the equivalent distance of running to St George's Park in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, (the FA's national football centre) and back again in the month of March.

The youngsters won't actually be running to Burton on Trent but will running the equivalent distance, about 322 miles, locally.

A spokesperson for the team said: "Our main aim is to raise much needed funds for Thurrock Foodbank however, it is also a way of getting the boys active and fitter before we hopefully restart our season, which, fingers crossed will be 29 March. Thank you very much for your support."

If you would like to help team reach their target (they have already raised £440) or smash it you can donate via this link.
