Cllr Andrew Jefferies: "It's an exciting time for our children."

FIGURES released today (Thursday 16 April) have revealed that a vast majority of children across Thurrock will receive their first or second primary school choice for the September 2020 academic year.

The news has been welcomed by Cllr Andrew Jefferies, the Conservative administration's cabinet member for education and health, who said: "Once again we have delivered fantastic results for the thousands of children in Thurrock taking the big step into school education this September.

THURROCK'S town centre policing teams have come under a bit of flack on social media after posting a series of pictures across the borough.

The teams, who are designated to patrol town centres in Grays, Stanford-le-Hope, Tilbury, South Ockendon and Purfleet, posted the pictures on their Facebook page yesterday (Tuesday, 13 April) with the message: "It's been business as usual for the Town Centre Teams over their last set. They have been on patrol across the district."
