A CALL has gone out for donations of Personal Protective Equipment for the 82 staff who work at a chain of care homes in the regions.

Christian Care Homes, a registered charity which offers care to elderly residents in Stanford-le-Hope at Oak House on Corringham Road and Cedar House on Southend Road, as well as Beech House in Basildon is in need of the equipment.

Thurrock Jackie Doyle-Price says residents can be assured the NHS can meet the demand for PPE.

THURROCK'S MP has sought to reassure constituents that frontline NHS workers do have enough Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to carry out their jobs safely.

In the wake of national and local concerns about the supply of PPE, with Basildon & Thurrock Hospital highlighted as potentially being in a crisis situation, Jackie Doyle-Price said she had discussed the issue with NHS officials and she has been advised that there are "sufficient supplies" available.
