STAFF and volunteers at One Community Development Trust in Tilbury have received a £2,000 donation from the local Amazon fulfilment centre.

One Community Development Trust runs a number of initiatives to support community wellbeing. The charity aims to boost prosperity across Southern Thurrock by helping individuals find and sustain paid employment. The charity also focuses on creating a sustainable community environment by working with local organisations to promote the use of public spaces and facilities across Tilbury.

FOLLOWING initial works on Grays' one way system at the end of 2019, engineering works to help improve the transport network in Grays are set to recommence in the town centre on Thursday, 16 January.

Works will facilitate the reintroduction of a two-way system on Orsett Road as part of a wider transport strategy to help make Grays safer and more accessible, promoting job creation and access to skills and learning.

THE sergeant in charge of Thurrock's town centre policing team has assured residents the force will not give up on local communities and his officers are here to stay.

Despite the launch of policing teams dedicated to Grays, Stanford-le-Hope and South Ockendon last year, led by Sgt Ben Forbes, there has been much criticism of the lack of police profile and rising levels of anti-social behaviour, particularly in Grays.
