GRAYS Athletic's second pre-season friendly at Parkside last night (Monday, 5 July) ended in a 3-2 defeat against Cray Valley PM but it was an entertaining match that featured a debut for Grays U16 player midfielder Henry Lynch.

He is the second U16s player to feature this season, following the debut for keeper Sam Griek against Three Bridges on Saturday.

A 16th minute strike from striker Anointed Chukwu gave the hosts the lead, before Ade Adeyemo equalised in the 25th minute and five minutes later the visitors were ahead through Rory Hill.

The sides went into the break on level terms after a free kick was driven home by Grays recruit from Aveley, the much-travelled David Knight.

Both sides made full use of their squads with a number of changes and the game was decided by a 53rd minute second goal of the game from Adeyemo.
