Council says 'sorry' - again! New pledge to residents over brown bin collections

By Nub News Reporter   1st Sep 2023

YET another apology has been issued by Thurrock Council after it failed to deliver on promises to collect waste bins in Grays.

Residents in south Grays missed out on collections last week.

One resident told Thurrock Nub News: "Lots of brown bins have been waiting for collection in south Grays since last Wednesday. The section of Argent Street to the west of West Street (and all the side roads) were missed and have not been cleared one week later.

"At this time of year it is totally unacceptable to only have one collection per four weeks."

A council spokesperson told Nub News: "The council has identified a scheduling issue at this location which has now been corrected.

"As an outcome, we have moved collections to a different team where collections will be made as scheduled.

"Collections at this address will be monitored for the next three months by the management team.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
