Grays bow out on penalties

By Neil Speight 2nd Dec 2021

Grays Athletic 0, Barking 0

Barking won 5-4 on penalties GRAYS bowed out of the Isthmian League's Velocity Trophy in the second round on a night (Wednesday, 1 December) that won't live long in the memory at Parkside. Just 86 turned up to watch the tie but they found little to entertain them on a cold night with chances at a premium in a match that ended goalless. In the ensuing penalty shoot-out the first eight penalties for each side were converted but when Kai Brown missed Grays' fifth, the door was open to the next round for Barking and they converted their final kick to go through.
